Rail operators on the Fenchurch Street network have chalked up their second year as Britain’s most punctual train service.

C2C trains on the Southend run serving commuters at Limehouse, West Ham and Barking have achieved 97 per cent arrival on time over the past two years.

The company for the second year running has now topped the punctuality league table and has also consistently been at Number 1 every month since December, 2011.

It has remained top of the Public Performance Measure, the official rail industry check on train arrivals published every four weeks by Network Rail, for the past 24 months.
