Cable crossing should be cheaper for Londoners, claims Green Party member

The new cable cars crossing the Thames in East London should be made more accessible to Londoners, a London Assembly member has urged.

Green Party member Darren Johnson welcomed the project, but said journeys should be covered by travel cards and the freedom pass.

He said: “I’ve been pushing for a cable car across the Thames for several years now as an environmentally-friendly alternative to new road crossings. However, for the cable car to be a properly integrated part of the public transport network the Mayor needs to revise the ticketing policy.”
