A children's charity has launched a new campaign to boost the confidence of young people across the capital.

Barnardo’s new Believe in Me initiative aims to highlight the importance of having faith in youngsters to help them lead a successful life.

The launch took place at the V and A Museum of Childhood, in Cambridge Heath, Bethnal Green, last Thursday.

A recent survey published by the charity showed that 81 per cent of 11 to 18-year-olds in London lack confidence whilst only 22pc said they felt confident about there futures.

Javed Khan, chief executive of Barnardo’s, said: “Barnardo’s has been supporting children for 150 years, and today we help 248,000 young people and families every year.

“We know how vital it is our young people believe in themselves, and much of our work across our 996 services hopefully gives them the confidence to believe that anything is possible.”
