The ‘all clear’ has been given after rush-hour commuters were disrupted in east London this-morning by a security alert at Canary Wharf.
Emergency services were alerted at 8.30am to a ‘suspect’ package found outside an office block on the security-sensitive business district around Canada Square. Fire engines and ambulances were on standby.
But the alert ended 50 minutes later as a “false alarm,” Scotland Yard said a short while ago. The package was harmless.
