THE bankers and financial dealers of Canary Wharf have marked Christmas with stunning candlelight carol singing.
Choirs made up of companies from the financial services industry performed at the East Wintergarden last night (Tues) with hundreds of Christmas lights and hand-held candles.
The free event, in the heart of London’s famous business and shopping district, attracted 800 people, many of them shoppers and office workers.
It was organised by the Bishop of London’s Chaplain in Docklands, The Rev Fiona Stewart-Darling, with help from Canary Wharf’s own Arts & Events team, and included a charity collection for Mercy Ships and Sister Christine Frost’s own Neighbours in Poplar charity. Companies taking part in the choirs included the Financial Services Authority, Morgan Stanley, Rouse, HSBC, State Street and Barclays Capital.
