Canary Wharf domestic violence campaigner pens book for inspirational mothers

A domestic violence campaigner who has battled cancer and suffered the loss of a child has written a book in honour of inspirational mothers.
Margaret Aberdeen from Canary Wharf said she has put pen to paper to acknowledge that mums play hugely important, unpaid and overlooked roles.
Describing herself as a “warrior queen advocate”, she said: “I felt I needed to let the world know that today that society expects mothers to do it all.
“More and more women must juggle their responsibilities as mothers alongside professional careers.
“That means to do it ‘perfectly’ and to be the ideal ‘supermums’ with the majority of them as single supermums.”

The book is partly a memoir chronicling Margaret’s own journey as a mother facing domestic abuse, surviving cancer and the loss of the youngest of her two sons.
“I was scared of letting come out to the public,” she added.
