The Canary Wharf Group has appointed one of the most prominent names in the technology sector as an advisor to try to increase its appeal to businesses in the sector.
Eric Van der Kleij will balance his current role as Chief Executive of Tech City Investment Organisation with the new advisory role shaping Canary Wharf’s digital strategy until September, at which point he will join the Canary Wharf Group on a full time basis.
His role will primarily be to encourage the Wharf’s established finance and professional services companies to assist London’s burgeoning technology companies and attract them to the area.

“We can help growing technology companies connect with the business opportunities, talent, investment and advice provided by the world’s leading financial services providers already established at Canary Wharf.”
