The affluent Canary Wharf business district turned into a sea of red when 1,500 volunteers set off in a mass sponsored jog wearing distinctive British Heart Foundation T-shirts.
They took to the streets for the annual 10k Jog in what the charity called “a united front against coronary heart disease.”
Last month’s event centred around Canada Square where joggers complete seven miles to reach the charity’s £55,000 target, with donations and pledges still coming in long after the event.
Organiser Kate Glover said this week: “Coronary heart disease is not beaten yet—but we’re able to continue our fight to find a cure because of public support for events like the Canary Wharf jog.”
Funds raised at Canary Wharf are helping pay for research into Coronary disease which is responsible for almost 80,000 deaths a year.
