An outpatient’s centre in the Docklands reopened last week after renovation work to proved better care for nearby office workers.

The HCA Healthcare Centre in Upper Bank Street, Canary Wharf, includes a private GP, dental care services and imaging services such as x-rays allowing workers to maintain their routine appointments.

The centre, which is run by London Bridge Hospital, first opened in 2004 and also caters for sports injuries and recently expanded its specialist knee unit.

Miranda Dodd, Chief operating officer at London Bridge Hospital, said the improvements were needed because people have less time to fit in appointments around work.

“We are always trying to improve access to our healthcare services, which are designed with our patients in mind,” said Miranda. “We recognise that people are increasingly time-poor, work long hours and don’t always put their health first, but we are trying to make it easier to combine the two to help improve people’s wellbeing and ensure a healthier workforce for local businesses.”
