RIOT cops with shields tackled a man reported to have been threatening people with a knife (pictured).

An eye-witness told police he saw a man running through the streets of Wapping, in London's East End, at 11am last Saturday (March 29) with a knife.

The suspect was then said to have barricaded himself into a block of flats in Wapping High-street, on the Thames waterfront.

"He was running around, waving a knife and threatening people," said the eye-witness. "Then he locked himself into a flat, but police got him out."

An Advertiser catches the moment on camera (above) when a suspect is brought out of the flats.

He is surrounded by police officers who hold him to the ground and handcuff him before taking him away.

Police later were 'unable' to give the Advertiser any information about the incident witnessed at Wapping.
