London’s Air Ambulance received a �25,000 boost to its coffers yesterday (Sunday).
The donantion from rail and bus company National Express will help the charity continue to provide emergency medical services from The Royal London Hospital on Whitechapel Road.
Charity director, David Oakley, said: “London’s Air Ambulance relies heavily upon corporate support and donations from the public to ensure the continued provision of this life-saving service.”
The service operates 24 hours a day, with the helicopter running in daylight hours and rapid response cars taking over at night, enabling medical staff to carry out procedures at the roadside which are normally only found in a hospital A&E department.
