CASH is going begging for any community or neighbourhood project in London's deprived East End.
But the 'good causes' have less than two weeks to make a claim.
Grants are being offered up to £5,000 from the 'Grassroots' programme by St Katharine & Shadwell Trust to be given away before March 31. The deadline for applications is February 3, the trust warns.
The programme is for voluntary and community groups in Tower Hamlets with an average income of less than £30,000.
Applications are being considered for projects that encourage improving neighbourhoods, better understanding between different sections of society, help train staff and volunteers or address a specific community problems.
The 'Grassroots'fund comes from the Office of the Third Sector, with just another 14 months to run. Final round of funding starts in April. Applicants can contact the trust byemail here or phone 020-7782 6962.
