RAMBLERS can take in the last of the spring bulbs and the first of the summer's wild flowers on a guided walk around Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park on Sunday.

Park manager Ken Greenway will take walkers on the free tour of the cemetery woodland from 2pm and will point out flower, plant, bird and insect species.

The bulbs and flowers have attracted butterflies into the Southern Grove park in Mile End, including brimstones, peacocks, commas and small tortoiseshells, which were last seen in the East End three years ago.

There are 23 species of butterfly and 50 species of bird species recorded in the nature reserve, along with rare beetles, bees, spiders, fungi and flies, which are regularly surveyed to monitor the biodiversity of the park's populations.

Walkers should meet outside the Soanes Centre at 2pm on Sunday. For more information call Ken Greenway on 07904 186 981 or email thcemeterypark@yahoo.co.uk
