GREEN charity Thames 21 is launching its annual challenge to help clear up rubbish from the river.

The charity is challenging East Enders to step outside, don some wellies and help clean up the foreshore of the river Thames.

They will be meeting at Poplar Rowing Club on the Isle of Dogs from 10am to 12.30pm on Friday August 13.

People need to wear scruffy clothes for the event at Ferry Street.

A health and safety briefing will be given before the event starts and the charity will provide special wellies with steel toes and underplates.

The event is not suitable for children under five or for dogs.
