Inspirational fundraiser Phil Packer ended his 2,012 mile walk to raise money for diabetes charity JDRF at Canary Wharf on Tuesday.
For the final stretch of his journey, which was the equivalent of 310 marathons in 331 days, Phil was joined by children who suffer from type 1 diabetes to celebrate his achievement.
He said: said: “This has been an extraordinary year and completing this challenge is a landmark way to finish.
“The challenge now is about building a legacy for a part of our society; young people post-traumatic experiences desperately in need of our help.”
Despite previously being told he would never walk again due to a spinal injury he sustained while serving his country in Iraq, Phil set out on the journey in January in an effort to raise £15m for charity.
The money raised is to be spent on a “centre of inspiration” in West Sussex for young people facing adversity.
