A special train now runs on the Fenchurch Street service through east London in honour of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Chelsea Pensioners David Donaghey and Marjorie Cole were invited by c2c train operators today (Friday) to christen it ‘Diamond Jubilee 1952-2012.’
The train is one of a fleet of five specially redecorated to mark the Queen’s 60 years on the throne, with the Union Jack on one carriage and the official Diamond Jubilee emblem on all the doors.
They are serving the Southend line through east London and Essex as a contribution by the Fenchurch Street train operators to the Jubilee celebrations.
The company is also taking a party of Chelsea Pensioners including David and Marjorie on a trip to the seaside later in the summer—in a Jubilee train, of course.
