AMERICAN Independence Day is bound to be hot this year as it is celebrated with a spicy "Chilli-Off" in Brick Lane.
As the East End stands on alert for the hottest day of the year, contestants in this week's chilli cooking competition at All Star Lanes bowling alley will be feeling the heat in more ways than one.
Budding chefs from all over London will be putting their skills to the test to cook up the best bowl of chilli and become the Independence Day Chilli Champ.
The 18 chefs will be ready for public tasting sessions from noon on Thursday and judging will take place from 1pm.
