THE Far East comes to London’s East End on Sunday with lion dance’ celebrations for the Chinese Year of the Tiger.’
The Mayor of Tower Hamlets, Ahmed Omer, plays a role in the day-long celebrations at the Museum of London Docklands at Canary Wharf, from 10am to 6pm.
The colourful 20-minute Lion Dance begins at 1.30pm outside the museum, finishing inside the museum foyer.
The museum is celebrating 300 years of Chinese community history in East London in a day packed with events including a variety show, craft stalls and workshops as well as the traditional lion dance. There are also drop-in workshops including water painting, calligraphy, paper cutting and face painting.
