Australian international previews clash with Yeovil and talks about how important it is to start winning games again

Leyton Orient goalkeeper Alex Cisak believes it is vital they beat Yeovil Town tomorrow to stop the gap increasing between themselves and the automatic promotion places.

A string of draws recently has resulted in the O’s falling to ninth in the table and now eight points behind third in the table Plymouth Argyle.

Ian Hendon’s team lost to Scunthorpe United on Tuesday night to exit the FA Cup, but haven’t tasted defeat in the division for over a month.

They lost to Hartlepool United on November 15 and since have beaten York City and drawn with Plymouth, AFC Wimbledon and Mansfield Town.

While all were respectable results, Cisak admits it is time they start winning matches in the division.

“There have been a few games that have been draws when they should have been wins and that is the difference between where we are now and the top of the table so we need to get the wins now,” said the Australian international.

“Every game at this level, well in England, is a hard game and there is no certain wins in any match.

“Obviously they are fighting for their lives and we are fighting too to get promoted so it is a very important game for both sides, but hopefully we come out on top.”

Cisak believes a win against Yeovil could act as a catalyst for Orient to get on another positive run of form.

They won the first five matches to make a blistering start to their promotion push after relegation last season.

But the difficulty of League Two, in particular, is that any team can beat anybody and it has been the case all year.

The key for the O’s now, however, is that they are close to the top three going into February time.

Cisak added: “Obviously every game is massive for us, but I think we just need to get three points and on a winning run again.

“If we start getting to January and February and you are still not close enough to get in that top three it is going to be very hard for us, but we need to start from now and get a good run going.”
