Runners sprang into action as music and colour filled the air at the weekend.
Thousands of people of all ages took part in The Color Run (they spell it the American way), sponsored by Dulux paint company, at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Billed as the “happiest 5km on the planet” the untimed race covers its runners in powder at every kilometre. It was the second time this year that the charity event has taken place in the capital, with the first held in Wembley in July.
Event organiser Joe Rafferty said: “We’ve taken the joy and happiness of the event across the country and what better way to round it off than bringing it back to the capital and to this incredible, iconic venue.
“Once again, London has done us proud – the atmosphere was absolutely electric all day and we can’t thank our Color Runners enough for helping us to throw our final colour celebration of the year in such style.”
The run toured the UK over summer with plans to bring it back next year. Money raised will go towards children’s charity Save The Children.
