Community funds wash their hands for kids hygene

TODDLERS are being taught that washing their hands before eating is really fun. Nursery staff say the attractive new washroom and toilets installed at the Poplar children s play centre will encourage the toddlers to wash more frequently.

Nursery staff say the 'attractive' new washroom and toilets installed at the Poplar children's play centre will encourage the toddlers to wash more frequently.

The £26,000 spruce up has been paid for by the Isle of Dogs Community foundation-with East End big businesses chipping in some cash as well.

Rupert Murdoch's News International printworks in Wapping gave £1,000 and Lehman Brothers donated £1,500.

The refurbishment also includes a new security gate at the premises in Poplar High Street.

Now the building work is done, the play staff laid on a celebration for the mums this afternoon (Friday) to thank them "for their understanding while the refurbishment was under way.
