A block of modern copper-clad flats designed to spruce up a deprived estate has landed the designers a prestigious award.
The Claremont block in Claredale Street, Bethnal Green, has been named best new affordable development in the Evening Standard New Homes Awards.
It is the second award the designers have nabbed in recent months, having won a Housing Design Award last year.
Judges this time around described it as “a place you want to walk into and take a second look”.
Families who were living in run-down homes now occupy the 45 apartments and four houses.
