Police are appealing for witnesses after a young woman was indecently assaulted in an alleyway in broad daylight.
The 21-year-old victim was standing in an alleyway between Booker Close and Burdett Road in Mile End around 3.30pm on Wednesday, June 30, when she was approached by a man who indecently assaulted her.
The woman said the man had walked past once with a bag of chips but returned two to three minutes later and attacked her.
The suspect, who cops say they believe is a local youth, is described as of mixed race, aged 18-21, 5ft 7ins tall, with a chubby build and short brown curly hair. He was wearing a red T-shirt and carrying a dark rucksack.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information to contact Detective Constable Steve Coles at Bethnal Green CID on 020 8217 3751 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
