SQUATTERS were evicted from a flat in Bethnal Green when police officers searched it for drugs last week.

Officers from Weavers safer neighbourhood team searched the house in Diss Street last Wednesday after neighbours complained.

Although no drugs were found, the house was littered with drug paraphernalia and representatives from Tower Hamlets Homes and a County court bailiff came to evict the squatters.

PC Karl Holman Weavers Safer Neighbourhoods team said: "The safer neighbourhood team will act on information given to us and drug users will be persistently pursued by what ever means possible.
