Cops in hospital after police car crash in Poplar

TWO police cars crashed into each other as they were responding to an emergency call in the early hours of this morning (Friday).
Four officers have been taken to hospital following the crash which happened at the junction of Upper North Street and Cordelia Street, Poplar around 2.30am.
It is believed two officers had to be cut free from the wreckage by the fire brigade.
A Met spokesman said two officers have suffered impact injuries and are awaiting assessment at an east London hospital while the other two have been taken in as a precaution although it is believed they are not injured.
The Met's Collision Investigation Unit is on scene and will investigate the circumstances of the collision.
A spokesman said it is believed both vehicles were responding to a call for assistance from another police vehicle.

No other vehicles were involved in the collision and no members of the public involved.
The roads around the scene remain closed.
