COPS tackling yob behaviour and under-age drinking have arrested 11 people on the Isle of Dogs in the past month, they revealed today.

Officers from Millwall neighbourhood team in East London have been patrolling housing estates and riverside wharves around Manchester Road in a bid to reduce rowdy behaviour and crime.

The 11 were nicked for offences including possessing drugs with intent to supply, possessing a prohibited weapon, assault and burglary.

Pol Sgt Alexander Burzotta warned: “We will continue to tackle anti social behaviour on the Isle of Dogs and address those causing misery to their neighbours.”

Two motorists were also slapped with on-the-spot fines for driving while using mobile phones.

Police and Town Hall officials at Tower Hamlets are now drawing up acceptable behaviour’ contracts for 20 people in the area.
