Families have managed to get contractors to sign up to a ‘code of conduct’ for council house repairs in London’s East End.
The Mears Group social housing repairs company signed the agreement with Tower Hamlets Homes this week, setting out standards council tenants expect from them.
Tower Hamlets Homes contract manager Steven Holmes said: “It is one example of how residents can influence the service they receive and is important that they know the code our repair contractor must follow and the standards we expect from them.”
The company has agreed the code as part of its workforce training, tailored to tenants’ needs.
