FOUR of the 2012 Olympic host’ boroughs are getting a stash of Whitehall cash to get people off the dole in East London.
The Department of Work & Pensions is ploughing nearly �4 million into a kitty to create jobs with local authorities, each with a London Living’ wage and lasting at least six months.
Tower Hamlets, one of Britain’s most deprived areas, is getting �650,000 to create 100 jobs on the council. Anyone aged 18 to 24 who is long-term unemployed is eligible for the scheme.
Long-term unemployed who are looking for work are being urged to contact Job Centre Plus on 0845-6060.
