A celebration of Bangladeshi independence from Pakistan held at Tower Hamlets Town Hall cost the council almost £400 to host.
Around 100 people attended the celebration, on December 17, to mark the fight for Bangladeshi autonomy in 1971.
The cost of the event was revealed to be £373 after a freedom of information request was submitted to the council.
