Friends and family members of alcoholics and drug addicts are being invited to attend new counselling sessions to support them as they try to help their loved ones beat their substance abuse problems.
Tower Hamlets Council’s Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) has set up a number of free events throughout the borough, by working in partnership with the Community Alcohol Team (CAT) and the Specialist Addiction Unit (SAU).
CAT will run sessions every Friday morning – call the team on 0800 008 7200 for more information.
The SAU will host a session for addicts’ friends and families at Mile End Hospital, in Bancroft Road, on Thursday (January 31) from 5.30pm until 7.30pm. Contact SAU on 020 8121 5301 to find out more.
