Countdown’s maths and literacy genius Rachel Riley was among the participants in a beach volleyball tournament last week which is set to raise £50,000 for charity.

Action for Kids, a charity which benefits disabled children and their families, put on the City Beach Volleyball championship in Broadgate Circle on Friday.

Members of the Team GB beach volleyball team were also present, helping to smash the £40,000 target the charity had set for the tournament, which has been put on annually for the past four years.
