POLICE are hunting four gunmen following a shooting late last night (Monday) in East London when a middle-age couple were wounded in their home. Shots were fired through the front door of their house in Leytonstone at 11pm
POLICE are hunting four gunmen following a shooting late last night (Monday) in East London when a middle-age couple were wounded in the hallway of their home.
Shots were fired through the front door of their house at Melon-road in Leytonstone at 11pm after the couple went to investigate banging at their front-door.
The 50-year-old woman was shot in the hand and the 43-year-old man shot in the arm. Both were taken to Whipps Cross hospital, but later allowed home after treatment.
Two teenage boys in the house, aged 16 and 18, were upstairs at the time and were not hurt.
Police are looking for four youths, all described as black, in their late teens, seen driving off in a silver car towards Cathall-road following the shooting. The car had been previously parked outside the house.
Detectives from the Met’s Trident Squad investigating shootings in the black community are appealing for witnesses who were in Melon-road or Cathall-road at 11pm Monday, or anyone with information, to call the incident room on 020-8217 7381, or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
