Couple trapped in A12 car smash

A COUPLE were trapped when their Mercedes was in a crash during the night. Emergency fire-crews had to get them out after the car was in collision with a BMW on the A12 Old Ford slip-road at the junction with Wick Lane at 4.30am

A COUPLE were trapped when their Mercedes was involved in a crash during the night.

Emergency fire-crews had to get them out after the car was in collision with a BMW on the A12 Old Ford slip-road at the junction with Wick Lane at 4.30am today.

The couple were carried out on stretchers and taken by ambulance to hospital, but were not thought to be seriously hurt. Police had to close the slip-road during the rescue operation.
