A MAN has been slapped with an anti-social order banning him for three years from boozing or carrying open bottles or cans of alcohol in the streets of London's East End.
The order means Darren Noel could be arrested if he is spotted with drink in public anywhere in Tower Hamlets.
The 41-year-old was up before Thames magistrates who ruled on Tuesday (April 1) that he had been "acting in a way that was likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to people over the past six months in Whitechapel."
Details of Noel's yob behaviour given to magistrates by the local authority's specialist anti-social behaviour lawyer included urinating in public, swearing aggressively, spitting at people and drinking within the perimeters of the Drinking Control Zone around Whitechapel Market.
Noel, who comes from Woolwich, on the other side of the Thames, was spotted by police when he harassed two pensioners, shouting and swearing at them and blocking their way in Whitechapel-road last June.
He also made threats to kill a police community safety officer and intimidated a pregnant woman.
The Town Hall has set up a 'shop a yob' hotline to report anti-social incidents on 0800-917 5918.
