LAWYERS from the Crime Prosecution Service are considering whether there should be any further investigation into the death of East End teacher Blair Peach 30 years ago.

The CPS has agreed to review the Blair Peach Report into the death of the teacher at a demonstration against the National Front in Southall in 1979.

10,000 people turned up to the east London funeral of the 33-year-old who taught at Phoenix School in Bow.

The report was handed to the CPS yesterday and the Met Police said experts have been asked to decide if any further investigation into his death is justified.

A Met spokesman said: "This independent oversight should provide clarity to the family of Blair Peach and the public that the Met Police has exhausted all investigative options in relation to this historic case.
