Man charged following stabbings of two women in Bow

A man has been charged following the stabbing of two women in Bow.

Ivor Collingwood-Williams of Garrison Road, Bow, was charged yesterday (Monday) with two counts of grevious bodily harm with intent and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

The 36-year-old will appear at Thames Magistrate Court today.

On Friday, a 60-year-old woman was stabbed next to a playground as she walked along a path that runs between Legion Terrace and Garrison Road at around 9.50pm.

On Sunday, a 57-year-old was stabbed a number of times in Parnell Road just before 8.30pm, in an attack detectives believed was linked.

Both women were taken to hospital where their injuries were not deemed life threatening.

A 51-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of GBH on Sunday was released under investigation and will have no further action taken against him.
