A Brick Lane club has had its licence revoked after a massive police raid exposed drug-taking and dealing on the premises.
The decision to remove the licence of the 93 Feet East bar was taken by Tower Hamlets licensing sub-committee last week, after the raid involving 175 officers in December.
Evidence gathered by police pointed to widespread drug dealing and taking at the popular nightspot, prompting them to apply to the council to review its licence.
The decision means the venue will no longer be allowed to sell alcohol or function as a night club.
Deputy Mayor of Tower Hamlets cllr Ohid Ahmed said the decision shows the council is prepared to take “swift and decisive action if bars are found to be allowing drug dealing and drug misuse”.
“We will continue to go the extra mile to tackle drug dealing in our community”, he added.
