Shocking CCTV of a man attacking a woman in an empty Brick Lane beer garden, punching and kicking her and trying to rip off her clothes, has been released by police.

The victim met the man in Westminster before they went to the pub in the East End. The pub was closed but they were able to go into the garden.

But when the 27-year-old decided to leave, the man attacked her.

She managed to push him off and fled down Brick Lane.

The incident happened on Sunday 23 August at around 6.30am.

The man was black, of slim build with short hair. He wore a blue cap, grey zipped hooded top, jeans and black trainers.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the man or who witnessed the assault.
