People are being educated on how to detect and prevent hate crime in training sessions run by Tower Hamlets Council.
The No Place for Hate Champions training is free for anyone who lives or works in the borough. It has been completed by 84 people already.
The course gives people the skills to deliver community activities where they can share the information they’ve learnt and celebrate the importance of diversity.
Cheryl Jethoo, who completed the last round of training, said: “I truly believe that we as a community can eradicate hate crime if we all take a stand against it.
“I will be offering workshops to educate people on hate crime and raising awareness through newsletters and information displays at my local GP surgery.”
To apply for a place, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Benedicta Dikeocha on 020 7364 6105. Applications close at 5pm on Friday, April 20.
