An 88-year-old woman found dead following a suspected burglary at her care home flat has been named by police as Margery Gilbey.

The resident of of Sonali Gardens sheltered accomodation in Sutton Street, Shadwell, was found by staff on Friday.

A 17-year-old youth from Romford is in custody having been charged with her murder on Saturday.

He will appear at Stratford Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, (Monday).

A 23-year-old man also arrested in connection with the death has been bailed to return to an east London police station pending further enquiries.
