Police have issued a picture this-morning of a woman they want to question about an attack when another woman in her 20s was threatened with a syringe while trapped in a lift.
They want to trace 32-year-old Aisha Bangs (above) about the incident in a block of flats in London’s East End at 6.30pm last Friday.
The victim was threatened with the syringe before being punched in the attack in the lift at the block in Ramsey Street, off Cheshire Street, Bethnal Green, Scotland Yard said.
She was then grabbed by the hair and dragged out of the lift. Clumps of hair were ripped from her head, but she managed to escape to raise the alarm.
A white man was standing close by who the woman believed was known to her attacker, but said he did not take part.
Detectives have so far been unable to trace Aisha Bangs and are appealing to anyone who knows her whereabouts or has information to contact Tower Hamlets CID on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555111.
