Clubbers at a Mile End nightclub where a man was stabbed to death a fortnight ago are being urged to speak to police.

Rapper Kelvin Easton, 23, was found covered in blood at the bottom of a stairwell in Boheme club in the early hours of Sunday March 27 after being stabbed in the heart.

Officers will be returning to the scene this weekend to raise awareness of the case and speak to anyone who may have information.

Police applied successfully to have the club closed shortly after the attack when it emerged there may have been some security lapses.

Moments after Mr Easton was stabbed, a man was given access to the security room and went on to steal CCTV footage which officers later said could have contained “vital evidence”.

Police also told Tower Hamlets licensing committee that weapons may have been brought into the venue, on Mile End Road.

The town hall has suspended Boheme’s licence.

Mr Easton, known as “Smegz”, was from Tottenham and a father of two.

A post-mortem revealed he died from a stab wound to the heart.

As part of their drive this weekend, officers will be sending out a Bluetooth message to people in the area.

Det Ch Insp Charles King, in charge of the investigation, said: “The Boheme was very busy. I am trying to trace all the people who attended the club that night.

“Even if you don’t think you have any information that would help, I would like to speak to everyone who was there.

“There are special measures we can take to protect your identity; rest assured if you come forward, I will do everything I can to ensure you remain anonymous.”

Three men aged, 25 and 23 and a 17-year-old boy have been arrested and bailed to return to east and north London police stations next month.
