Two addresses have been raided in east London today (Weds) by Met Police Anti-terrorism officers.

They followed the arrest of a couple, both aged 26, who arrived on a flight at Heathrow airport last night.

The couple were held on suspicion of preparing or instigating acts of terrorism and were still in custody today.

The arrests were part of an investigation into travel to Syria in support of alleged terrorist activity.

Officers from Scotland Yard’s Counter Terrorism Command carried out two search warrants under the 2000 Terrorism Act, but no further details were given.
