Police have released shocking CCTV footage that shows two men in Bethnal Green drugging a woman’s drink so once could rape and the other sexually assault her while she was unconscious.

After Mizad Miah, 24, of Bethnal Green Road, Bethnal Green, raped the victim and Belal Ahmed, 24, of Devas Street, Bromley-by-Bow, sexually assaulted her she regained consciousness and found herself wearing just her vest and underwear and both men laughing at her.

After the attack they jetted off on holiday to Morocco.

Yesterday both men were jailed for a total of 24 years for the depraved sex attack.

Snaresbrook Crown Court heard the pair knew the 21-year-old woman and had duped her into going into their car by promising to show her a flat she was interested in renting on November 9 last year.

Instead, Miah drove them to an off-licence where the pair bought a bottle of alcohol as she waited in the car.

When they returned to the car Miah sat in the driver’s seat and Ahmed got in the back next to the victim and forced her to drink the alcohol by holding her nose.

She lost consciousness and was raped by Miah and sexually assaulted by them both.

When the victim regained consciousness she was sat on the road next to the car wearing just her vest and underwear with her attackers laughing at her.

They all then got back into the car and Miah drove them to a number of car parks so she could retrieved the clothing they had thrown away while they were sexually assaulted her.

She was dropped her off near Bow creek at 3am – five hours after she had got into the car with them - where she went to a friend’s house and called the police.

Detectives investigating the case visited the off-licence the men had visited and obtained CCTV that showed Miah placing something into the bottle and Ahmed shaking it.

Test proved it was class A drug MDMA which had made the victim lose consciousness.

Both were arrested at Gatwick Airport when they returned from their holiday on November 18.

Miah was jailed for 13 years after being found guilty of rape, administering a substance with intent to overpower to allow sexual activity, and assault by penetration.

Ahmed was convicted of administering a substance with intent to overpower to allow sexual activity, and assault by penetration and was jailed for 11 years.

Det Con Danny Pridige, investigating officer, said: “I would like to thank the victim for her great courage and strength in reporting this despicable incident.

“She gave invaluable evidence which was vital in ensuring these two dangerous men have been taken off our streets and put behind bars. I hope this sentencing result gives her some measure of comfort and closure.”
