A 22-year-old man from Bethnal Green will appear in court tomorrow in connection with a fire at a care home that left a severely disabled woman fighting for her life.
Sabbir Ahmed, of Doveton Street, was charged this afternoon with arson with intent to endanger life and recklessness with intent to endanger life.
He will appear in custody at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court following the incident at Lynwood Care Home, in Beccles Drive, Barking, in the early hours of November 13.
A further two men, aged 21 and 22, were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of arson – both were bailed to return in late January.
Donna Stringer, 43, who has learning difficulties and uses a wheelchair, was rushed to hospital at the time, where she remains in a critical but stable condition.
