A teenager from Bethnal Green has been jailed for 14 years for attempted murder after stabbing two men in a brutal attack.

Ty Padmore, 18, of Sewardstone Road, was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court today after being found guilty of attempted murder in September.

He had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of grevious bodily harm.

Padmore was just 17 when he approached two men aged 18 and 19 at the junction of Chrisp Street and Cordelia Street on February 3.

He asked them where they were from and then asked them to come with him round the corner.

There he got off his bike and stabbed one of the men in the leg, before attempting to take the other’s phone and stabbing him in the wrist.

The second man then attempted to run away but Padmore chased him, stabbing him twice and then a further ten times once he caught up with him in a dead end off Ridgen Street.

He was found unconscious and taken to hospital, while the other victim managed to board a bus and get help from the driver.

Padmore was arrested on February 7 after police searched his home and was charged the following day.

Following the sentencing, Det Con Tony Smith said: “Whilst I am pleased that Padmore has received a lengthy jail sentence I hope that this case highlights the real damage knife crime and violence can do to people’s lives.”
