A black cab led police to discover a cannabis factory in Bow.
Officers were called to Peel Grove in Bethnal Green at 1pm yesterday after witnesses reported seeing drugs being sold from a black cab. The vehicle was searched and a can of CS spray found. A 47-year-old black cab driver was then arrested for possession of a firearm, according to police.
Following enquiries, a search was carried out at his address in Wellington Way two hours later where police discovered eight large cannabis plants in the loft along with lighting, extractors and watering equipment.
The man was further arrested for possession of cannabis along with his 56-year-old wife. Both were taken to an East London police station where they were released on police bail. They are both due to return on bail on October 3.
