These may look like cuttings from a pleasant little garden—but they turn out to be plants seized by police from a suspected cannabis ‘factory’ they stumbled on in London’s East End today.
Officers were taking part in the Met’s London-wide Community Action Day programme when they got tip-offs from neighbours about what appeared to be a suspicious operation set up in a council tower block at Bromley-by-Bow.
Officers entered the flat at Ballinger Point in Bromley High Street, to find 25 plants and paraphernalia associated with fast-track cannabis nurturing.
The squad from Bromley North Neighbourhood policing team arrested two men in their 40s at the premises who have been taken to a police station nearby to be questioned.
No charges have been made, but police are continuing their investigation into the discovery.
