A BATTLE is being played out at the High Court between an East End mosque and the worshippers it wants to exclude from the building.
The Stepney Shahjalal Mosque and Cultural Centre on Duckett Street in Stepney has applied to the High Court for an injunction to bar 11 worshippers from the building.
Lawyers at the hearing before Mrs Justice Slade at the Queen’s Bench today have argued that they should be banned to prevent disruptive behaviour whilst lawyers for the worshippers said they are long-serving members of the mosque who have contributed to it financially and want to pray there.
The hearing continues.
