Police have today released moving CCTV footage showing Tony McCluskie, standing trial for murdering his sister EastEnders actress Gemma McCluskie, dragging a large suitcase alleged to have contained her body into the boot of a taxi.
Another clip, also released today by police, shows the accused dragging the bag along the Regent’s canal before dumping it in the water.
The images were caught on CCTV the day after Gemma McCluskie went missing from their family home in Pelter Street, Bethnal Green.
The images are being used as evidence at the Old Bailey where Tony McCluskie is standing trial for the murder of the 29-year-old actress. He admits manslaughter but denies murder.
The trial started Monday of last week and is still continuing.
